Scientometrics Analysis of Global Researches on Anemia.

Anemia is a condition in which the number of red blood cells or the hemoglobin concentration within them is lower than normal. This study aims to show the intellectual structure of knowledge regarding anemia and gives a comprehensive and up-to-date image of research in this area. This is a descriptive-analytical study with a scientometric approach.

Tandem mass spectrometric enzyme assay for simultaneous detection of Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff diseases in dried blood spots for newborn screening.

GM2 gangliosidosis is a group of rare lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs) including Tay-Sachs disease (TSD) and Sandhoff disease (SD), caused by deficiency in activity of either β-hexosaminidase A (HexA) or both β-hexosaminidase A and β-hexosaminidase B (HexB). Methods for screening and diagnosis of TSD and SD include measurement and comparison of the activity of these two enzymes. Here we report a novel method for duplex screening of dried blood spots (DBS) for TSD and SD by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).

Lysosomal galactosylceramidase (GALC) is expressed in all brain cells, including oligodendrocytes (OLs), microglia, and astrocytes, although the cell-specific function of GALC is largely unknown. Mutations in GALC cause Krabbe disease (KD), a fatal neurological lysosomal disorder that usually affects infants. To study how Galc ablation in each glial cell type contributes to Krabbe pathogenesis, we used conditional Galc-floxed mice.

Preparedness of Iranian nurses against COVID-19: An analytical study.

Background And Aims: The reasons for the unfavorable performance of hospitals in providing care to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients include the lack of preparation, knowledge, and relevant skills, making it necessary to evaluate the preparedness of nurses to respond to COVID-19. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the preparedness of hospitals affiliated with Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.

Methods: In this analytical study, data were collected from 350 randomly selected nurses who worked in three hospitals affiliated with Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences; demographic information tools and the preparation of nurses for COVID-19 patients were used to collect the data.

Profiling UK injectable aesthetic practitioners: A national cohort analysis.

Introduction: The United Kingdom (UK) injectables market has been growing rapidly with a lack of robust regulation and to date, no information regarding the profile of practitioners has been published.

Aim: We aim to provide a descriptive and qualitative analysis of the advertised practitioners in the United Kingdom.

Methods: We performed a systematic search using the internet search engine Google to perform a qualitative descriptive analysis of aesthetic practitioners in the UK.
