Objective: Emergency contraception serves as the only dependable method for women to prevent pregnancy following unprotected sex. Among emergency contraception methods, the copper intrauterine device provides continuous, highly effective contraception for over a decade. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and side effects of the copper intrauterine device over methods containing levonorgestrel for emergency contraception.

Educational technology to empower patients as participants in their care.

Objectives: to build and validate an educational technology to empower patients as participants in their own care.

Methods: methodological study to develop an educational technology based on the elaboration, validation, and evaluation that were carried out in five stages at a teaching hospital in Amazonas. The study was carried out from 2019 to 2022, with the participation of 19 judges specialized in patient safety and 72 patients admitted to the hospital's medical and surgical clinics, the study setting.
