In silico analysis of mitochondrial DNA genes: implication for conservation of Tor putitora (Hamilton, 1822).

Tor putitora is an endangered cyprinid fish constrained to cold water and is also considered an indicator of a healthy aquatic ecosystem. The present study aimed to examine the haplotypic diversity, genetic variation and population structure of T. putitora isolates using COI and Cyt b gene sequences submitted in GenBank.

A review on comparative analysis of marine and freshwater fish gut microbiomes: insights into environmental impact on gut microbiota.

The gut microbiota, which includes prokaryotes, archaea, and eukaryotes like yeasts, some protozoa, and fungi, significantly impact fish by affecting digestion, metabolism, and the immune system. In this research, we combine various tasks carried out by various bacteria in the gut of fish. This study also examines the gut microbiome composition of marine and freshwater fish, identifying important bacterial species linked to different biological functions.

The use of supramolecular assemblies in pharmaceuticals has garnered significant interest. Recent studies have shown that the activities of antibacterial agents can be enhanced through complexation with cyclic oligomers and metal ions. The present study explored the natural compound Isotelekin isolated from Inula racemose against anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory potential in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cell lines and immune-elevated SRBC-sensitized animal models. Isotelekin in in vitro studies, inhibited the production of Th-1 cytokines Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Tumour necrosis factor (TNF-α), and Interferon-gamma (INF-γ), and increased Th-2 cytokines Interleukin-10 (IL-10).

Biotransformation of Geraniol to Geranic Acid Using Fungus IIIMF4011.

Geraniol is an important component in essential oils of aromatic plants such as lemongrass, rosa grass, and many others. It can be converted to different high-value products by using microbes/enzymes. The present study aims at the isolation and screening of microbes showing efficient production of geranic acid (a high-value product) from geraniol (a low-value monoterpene).
