Background: To date, no specific treatment has been established to reverse progressive chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Aim: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of autologous CD34 cell transplantation in CKD patients who exhibited a progressive decline in renal function.
Methods: The estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) at the beginning of the study was 15.

Promoters for artificial control of gene expression are central tools in genetic engineering. In the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a variety of constitutive and controllable promoters with different strengths have been constructed using endogenous gene promoters, synthetic transcription factors and their binding sequences, and artificial sequences. However, there have been no attempts to construct the highest strength promoter in yeast cells.

This study evaluates the operational variability in PC-CMVs of eleven transport and emergency ventilators used in ICU units in Brazil during the COVID-19 pandemic. The assessment involved a comprehensive set of test scenarios derived from existing literature and the NBR ISO 80601-2-12:2014 standard.

In this model, the study of currents has attracted a lot of attention, but so far most results are restricted to two geometries: (i) a finite system between two reservoirs, which does not conserve the number of particles but reaches a nonequilibrium steady state, and (ii) an infinite system which conserves the number of particles but never reaches a steady state. Here, we obtain an expression for the full cumulant generating function of the integrated current in the important intermediate situation of a semi-infinite system connected to a reservoir, which does not conserve the number of particles and never reaches a steady state.
