Electrophilic aromatic substitution at the C5 position of isoxazolines and construction of a new quaternary carbon center were achieved in this paper. This is the first report of carbon-carbon (C-C) bond formation onto isoxazoline without compromising the ring structure. Various aromatics including heteroaromatics gave the desired products in good yields, especially aromatics bearing electron-donating groups.

This study aimed to investigate whether these factors affect the overall survival (OS) of patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) using Tokushukai REAL World Data.
Methods: We analyzed the clinical data of consecutive patients with NSCLC receiving EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors between April 2010 and March 2020 at 46 Tokushukai Medical Group hospitals in Japan.

Golf ball-like particles have emerged as interesting materials in the fields of therapeutics, diagnostics, chemical sensing, etc. because of their unique shapes (with concave and convex moieties) and physical properties. Despite their uniqueness, their surfaces are generally covered with single components lacking functional groups, and a well-established functionalization method for a specific area of these particles, such as their concave or convex surface, is lacking.

This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of PUL using Japanese real-world multicenter data.
Methods: Indications for PUL were based on relevant guidelines in Japan.
This study investigated the adhesion of 4META-MMA-TBB resin to CAD/CAM composite resin blocks. CAD/CAM composite resin blocks were subjected to alumina blasting, ceramic primer treatment, or both, and then bonded with 4META-MMA-TBB resin. The tensile bond strength of 4META-MMA-TBB resin to blocks without surface treatment was approximately 20 MPa, but with surface treatment, it significantly improved to approximately 40 MPa.
