Mortality and Associated Risk Factors in Patients With Candida auris: Insights From a Tertiary Care Hospital in Bahrain.

Introduction Candida auris poses a significant healthcare challenge due to its high mortality rates, difficulties in identification, and resistance to antifungal treatment. This study aims to identify risk factors associated with 30-day mortality in patients with either invasive Candida auris infection or colonization. Methods We conducted a prospective study at Salmaniya Medical Complex, a tertiary care hospital in Bahrain, from September 2023 to February 2024.

Triple-mode squeezing with dressed six-wave mixing.

The theory of proof-of-principle triple-mode squeezing is proposed via spontaneous parametric six-wave mixing process in an atomic-cavity coupled system. Special attention is focused on the role of dressed state and nonlinear gain on triple-mode squeezing process. Using the dressed state theory, we find that optical squeezing and Autler-Towns splitting of cavity mode can be realized with nonlinear gain, while the efficiency and the location of maximum squeezing point can be effectively shaped by dressed state in atomic ensemble.

Long-term results of 28 esthesioneuroblastomas managed over 35 years.

Background: The purpose of our study was to assess the long-term results in the management of patients with esthesioneuroblastoma.

Methods: A total of 28 patients were retrospectively reviewed to analyze their clinical features, treatment outcomes, pattern of failures, and course of the disease.

Results: The patients were classified as 2 patients with T1, 10 patients with T2, 10 patients with T3, and 6 patients with T4; the results of all were included in this study.
