Identifying novel targets for molecular radiosensitization is critical for improving the efficacy of colorectal cancer (CRC) radiotherapy. Alpha-thalassemia/mental retardation X-linked (ATRX), a member of the SWI/SNF-like chromatin remodeling protein family, functions in the maintenance of genomic integrity and the regulation of apoptosis and senescence. However, whether ATRX is directly involved in the radiosensitivity of CRC remains unclear.

The relative contributions of mutation rate variation, selection, and recombination in shaping genomic variation in bacterial populations remain poorly understood. Here we analyze 3318 Yersinia pestis genomes, spanning nearly a century and including 2336 newly sequenced strains, to shed light on the patterns of genetic diversity and variation distribution at the population level. We identify 45 genomic regions ("hot regions", HRs) that, although comprising a minor fraction of the genome, are hotbeds of genetic variation.

In this study, we developed calcium alginate-coated nanovesicles derived from macrophage membranes loaded with berberine (Ber@MVs-CA) for the oral treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Ber@MVs-CA demonstrates resistance to gastric acid and controlled drug release in the colonic pH environment, while actively targeting sites of ulcerative colitis injury. pH-responsive release of Ber in Ber@MVs-CA was confirmed through in vitro release experiments.

Perspectives of persons with mild cognitive impairment, caregivers and healthcare professionals on computer-assisted cognitive training: A multi-perspective qualitative study.

Objective: To explore the perspectives and perceptions of persons with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), their caregivers, and healthcare professionals on computerized cognitive training (CCT).

Material And Methods: Utilizing phenomenological research methods, 12 MCI patients, 11 caregivers, and 15 healthcare professionals were recruited. Data were collected through four focus group interviews and six semi-structured in-depth interviews conducted between March 2023 and June 2023.
