Background: The biofloc system (BFS) provides a sustainable aquaculture system through its efficient in situ water quality maintenance by the microbial biomass, besides continuous availability of these protein-rich microbes as feed to enhance growth and immunity of the reared organism. This study explores the gill architecture, growth performance, digestive enzyme activity, intestinal microbial composition, and histology of three freshwater fish species, Puntius gonionotus, Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, and Heteropneustus fossilis reared in biofloc based polyculture system.
Results: The three species in T2 showed significantly higher WG and SGR, followed by T1 and T3.
Utilizing beneficial microorganisms associated with plants, particularly endophytes, is becoming more and more prevalent since it supports the physiological health and evolutionary adaption of the host. Beef producers in this region face challenges due to climate variability, limited nutritive value of forages, poor soils, public concerns about water quality and greenhouse gas emissions, management trade-offs, economic uncertainty, and increasing urban encroachment. The ABS-UF Common Experiment, co-designed with stakeholders, will assess innovative management systems in comparison to prevailing management systems on key indicators of sustainability.

In standard physiologic conditions, they play a role in maintaining the homeostasis of tissues and organs; however, there is evidence that they can contribute to some autoimmune diseases. Gaining a deeper understanding of the factors that transition MSCs from their physiological function to a pathological role in their native environment, and elucidating mechanisms that reduce their therapeutic relevance in regenerative medicine, is essential.
