Age-related sarcopenia is a degenerative disease characterized by the decline in skeletal muscle mass and function during the aging process. Anabolic resistance, which refers to the diminished response of skeletal muscle to anabolic stimulation from leucine and other nutrients, is a significant contributing factor to its development. Recent studies have suggested that large neutral amino acid-transporter 1 (LAT1/SLC7A5) may play an important role in enhancing leucine's effects on protein synthesis in aging skeletal muscle.

The study aimed to elucidate the correlation between genotypes and phenotypes.
Methods: gene variants were screened within a substantial Chinese cohort of patients with ALS, encompassing LoF and rare missense variants.
Introduction: Sarcopenia, with its complex diagnostic process, is a likely independent predictor of poor prognosis in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, research on the clinical characteristics and biomarkers of AD patients with sarcopenia (ADSA) is limited.
Methods: This study included 180 ADSA and 188 AD patients without sarcopenia (ADNSA), and evaluated demographics, cognitive function, motor capacity, emotional state, and daily living abilities.
Owing to their synergistic interactions, dual-atom catalysts (DACs) with well-defined active sites are attracting increasing attention. However, more experimental research and theoretical investigations are needed to further construct explicit dual-atom sites and understand the synergy that facilitates multistep catalytic reactions. Herein, we precisely design a series of asymmetric selenium-based dual-atom catalysts that comprise heteronuclear SeN-MN (M = Fe, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Mo, etc.

We synthesized unique Schiff bases via the condensation of the aldehydes with hydrazine derivatives, which allows for the easy synthesis of several related compounds. These Schiff base derivatives were tested for antileishmanial properties against the parasitic protozoan .
