No One Dies Alone: Developing A Comfort Care Home for Unhoused, Isolated, and Vulnerable Individuals.

This report highlights the development of Grace House Akron, Inc. (GHA) a comfort care home focused on caring for terminally ill individuals who are unhoused, isolated, without caregivers, economically disadvantaged and face end of life alone. GHA is a free-standing home that provides safe housing, a nurturing environment, and round-the-clock personal care while local hospice agencies provide medical management.

Introduction: Severely burned patients exhibit increased nutritional requirements and are at high risk of developing sepsis. Selenium is an essential trace element supporting antioxidant and anti-inflammatory pathways, mediated by incorporation into selenoproteins. The selenium status may affect sepsis risk in burn injury.

Human microglia play a pivotal role in neurological diseases, but we still have an incomplete understanding of microglial heterogeneity, which limits the development of targeted therapies directly modulating their state or function. Here, we use single-cell RNA sequencing to profile 215,680 live human microglia from 74 donors across diverse neurological diseases and CNS regions. We observe a central divide between oxidative and heterocyclic metabolism and identify microglial subsets associated with antigen presentation, motility and proliferation.

Migration of digital functional capacity assessments from device resident to cloud-based delivery: Development and convergent validity.

Decentralized clinical trials are leading to rapid changes in assessment technology, including an expansion of interest in remote delivery. As technology changes, some of the updates include migration to fully cloud-based software and data management, with attendant differences in hardware, response modalities, and modifications in the level of tester engagement. It is rare to see systematic descriptions of the process of migration and upgrading of technology-related assessments.
