Challenges to establishing and maintaining kidney transplantation programs in developing countries: What are the coping strategies?

Kidney transplantation (KT) is the optimal form of renal replacement therapy for patients with end-stage renal diseases. However, this health service is not available to all patients, especially in developing countries. The deceased donor KT programs are mostly absent, and the living donor KT centers are scarce.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and quality of life in long-term period (1 year) after total knee replacement in various age groups.

Material And Methods: We studied 134 patients after unilateral primary total knee replacement. The KOOS and SF-36 questionnaires were used to assess the therapeutic effect (functionality and symptoms) and quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

Penile reconstruction after complete bladder exstrophy repair.

Introduction: The decreased penile length in patients born with bladder exstrophy (BE) results partly from pubic symphysis diastasis and the separation of the corporal bodies. Also, intrinsic shortening of anterior corporal compartment, residual penile dorsal curvature, and postsurgical scarred skin share in creation of short penile length.

Objective: The goal of this study was to look at whether adult men who had bladder exstrophy (BE) surgery as babies needed and benefited from penile reconstruction, which included penile lengthening and repair of any redo penile pathology that was present at the same time.

The long-term consequences of the hypospadias salvage repair issue.

Purpose: To present the long-term results of redo-hypospadias at our tertiary referral center following a failed prior repair.

Methods: One hundred sixty-four individuals with a history of unsuccessful repairs qualified for our retrospective cohort study. Our inclusion criteria were as follows: pre-operative data that was accessible, redo-hypospadias that was successfully repaired, and at least three years of follow-up at the last hospital visit.

Factors affecting and effects of hemodynamic stability of pediatric patients with grades 3-5 renal trauma: a prospective non-randomized comparative study.

Background: Researches on the effect of hemodynamic stabilization on the implantation of conservative management for pediatric high-grade renal traumas are lacking. We aimed to assess the effect of maintaining the initial hemodynamic stability of pediatric patients with grades 3-5 renal trauma on the implementation of the conservative treatment and identify its defining factors.

Methods: A prospective study was performed on pediatric patients with grade 3-5 renal traumas who presented to our hospital during July 2020-June 2022.
