The use of nano additives to improve the cold properties of biodiesel is encouraged by its drawbacks and incompatibility in cold climate. Waste cooking oil (WCO) was transesterified to create biodiesel. A 20% by volume was used for combination of diesel and methyl ester.

Energy scarcity and conventional energy problems are the main reason of finding a renewable source of energy which is cheap and environmental friendly, therefore, biodiesel production is one of the most promising solutions of this problem. Also, Egyptian castor is one of the most important crops for oil production compared with other commonly used oil crops. The main aim of this study is to enhance the production of bio-oil from Egyptian castor seeds by using microwave and ultrasonic as pre-treatments.

Nowadays, in the clinical, pharmaceutical, and environmental sectors, the development of facile and sensitive analytical methods and/or innovative devices for the follow-up and detection of antibiotics and pharmaceutical formulations, in general, are urgently needed and still challenging. This work declared three vital applications for broad-spectrum nitrofurantoin (macrofuran) antibiotic detection and quantification: A colorimetric method, a coated paper strip-based nano-lanthanum complex prototype and fabrication of smart electronic color sensor device-based coated paper strips. The colorimetric method showed a significant response upon increasing the concentration of the nitrofurantoin in a range between (1.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explores the potential of using a mix of cooking oil waste and non-pretreated citrus tree fibers to create a low-cost and sustainable alternative fuel source, which was processed into a usable coal form.
  • The mixture underwent fungal treatment with Aspergillus flavus, enhancing its composition and significantly increasing its heating value by about 2.5 times compared to untreated coal.
  • The final product, tCTF/COW, achieved a calorific value of 43,422 kJ/kg, demonstrating its viability as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels.

This article investigates the impact of the heat treatment, and lubricant wear measurements at 5 wt % NaCl solution, mechanical and radiation shielding properties of three grades of stainless steels: SS316, M303, and SS201. The obtained results showed that heat-treated martensitic stainless-steel grade has improved mechanical and tribological properties while heat-treated austenitic stainless-steel grades showed deteriorated wear resistance. The radiation shielding parameters of the studied grades are comparable.
