Background/objectives: Robust evidence regarding the management after endoscopic resection of malignant colorectal polyps (MCP) is lacking. Inconsistencies in reporting on potential prognostic factors hinder the decision process. To address these issues, the Scottish Screen-detected Polyp Cancer Study (SSPoCS) introduced an algorithm based in two easily obtainable variables: resection margin and lymphovascular invasion.

Therefore, an illumination system with a spectrum tailored for laying hens, encompassing the entire visible spectrum, can enhance performance and welfare. The primary contribution of this study was the development of two Spectral Power Distributions (SPDs) specifically designed for laying hens, with different spectral proportions (S1 and S2), and the evaluation of their effects on productive performance, egg quality, and hormonal levels, compared to conventional white lighting at 3000 K (C).

Fungus-farming ants cultivate multiple lineages of fungi for food, but, because fungal cultivar relationships are largely unresolved, the history of fungus-ant coevolution remains poorly known. We designed probes targeting >2000 gene regions to generate a dated evolutionary tree for 475 fungi and combined it with a similarly generated tree for 276 ants. We found that fungus-ant agriculture originated ~66 million years ago when the end-of-Cretaceous asteroid impact temporarily interrupted photosynthesis, causing global mass extinctions but favoring the proliferation of fungi.

A 61-year-old man with biological aortic prosthesis and a 30-year history of ileocolonic stricturing Crohn's disease, managed with azathioprine and infliximab, presented with marked occlusive symptoms. Colonoscopy revealed a descending colon stricture, prompting endoscopic balloon dilation.
