A study on tumor necrosis factor-α single nucleotide polymorphisms and psoriasis vulgaris in Vietnam.

This study aims to evaluate the association between tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-α) single nucleotide polymorphisms and psoriasis vulgaris. This cross-sectional study involved 140 Vietnamese patients of Kinh ethnicity diagnosed with psoriasis vulgaris. The diagnosis of psoriasis vulgaris was based on clinical signs and symptoms.

Evaluation of the gastric conduit perfusion using indocyanine green in thoracoscopic esophagectomy for esophageal cancer.

Objective: Indocyanine green has been used in the assessment of the gastric conduit perfusion in thoracoscopic esophagectomy to prevent malperfusion-associated anastomotic leak. This study aims to evaluate the initial results of investigating the gastric conduit perfusion with indocyanine green in the surgical treatment of esophageal cancer.

Patients And Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on 54 esophageal cancer patients undergoing thoracoscopic esophagectomy and gastric conduit reconstruction.

Background: Systemic corticosteroid is used to treat alopecia areata, but it is associated with side effects. Mini-pulse therapy is thought to be effective but able to reduce side effects.

Background: Vitiligo is an acquired pigmentary disease, that causes progressive loss of melanocytes, resulting in hypopigmented skin patches. Current treatments aim at stopping the disease progression and achieving repigmentation of the amelanotic areas. Corticosteroids, surgery, topical immunomodulators, total depigmentation of normal pigmented skin and phototherapy are current treatment options for vitiligo although phototherapy remains the treatment of choice.
