Background: Individuals with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may have persistent symptoms following their acute illness. The prevalence and predictors of these symptoms, termed postacute sequelae of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; PASC), have not been fully described.

Methods: Participants discharged from an outpatient telemedicine program for COVID-19 were emailed a survey (1-6 months after discharge) about ongoing symptoms, acute illness severity, and quality of life.

Introduction: Medical school and residency programs encourage increased research, and thousands of abstracts are submitted to conferences annually. This study sought to determine the rate of publication of oral presentations from the 2017 Academic Surgical Congress (ASC) and assess factors that influence the likelihood of publication.

Methods: Abstracts selected for oral, plenary, and QuickShot presentations at the 2017 ASC were evaluated for publication status.

Although the diagnosis of thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is often missed, outcomes from surgical intervention significantly improve patient satisfaction. This article seeks to highlight patient characteristics, intraoperative findings, and both short and long-term outcomes of thoracic outlet decompression in the adolescent population. A retrospective chart review of patients between the ages of 13 and 21 years with a clinical diagnosis of neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome (NTOS) who were treated surgically between 2000 and 2015 was performed.

Background: Heterotopic pregnancy occurs when two pregnancies occur simultaneously in the uterus and an ectopic location. Treatment includes removal of the ectopic pregnancy with preservation of the intrauterine pregnancy. Treatment is done laparoscopically with either a Laparoendoscopic Single-Site Surgery (LESS) or a multiport laparoscopic surgery.
