Aims & Objectives: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common condition caused by compression of the median nerve, leading to neuropathic pain such as numbness and nocturnal discomfort, thus impacting daily life. Mirogabalin besylate (MGB), a novel gabapentinoid, shows promise for neuropathic pain, but its efficacy in CTS remains unclear.Therefore, this pilot study aimed to evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of MGB for CTS.

Patellar tendon rupture is a severe complication following total knee arthroplasty. We encountered a case of rheumatoid arthritis with an incomplete rupture of the patellar tendon post-total knee arthroplasty. An 84-year-old woman was diagnosed with an incomplete rupture of the right patellar tendon 3 months post-total knee arthroplasty of her right knee.

Performance improvements of virtual monoenergetic images in photon-counting detector CT compared with dual source dual-energy CT: Fourier-based assessment.

To confirm the performance improvement of virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) for iodine contrast tasks in a clinical photon-counting detector CT (PCD CT) using Fourier-based assessment, compared with those in the latest-generation dual-source dual-energy CT (DECT). A water-filled bath with a diameter of 300 mm, which contains rod-shaped phantoms equivalent to diluted iodine (2 and 12 mg/mL), was scanned using PCD CT and DECT at 15, 7.5, and 3 mGy.

A Proposal for a Simple Subclassification of Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Systemic Treatment.

Objectives: This study focused on the presence or absence of vascular invasion and extrahepatic metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and examined their impact on systemic treatment outcomes.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 362 patients with unresectable HCC who received first-line systemic therapy. The prognostic evaluation was based on the presence of vascular invasion and extrahepatic metastasis at the time of treatment initiation.
