Article Synopsis
  • Breast cancer screening is essential but may miss some cases, so women should be attentive to changes in their breasts for early detection.
  • This study developed 3D-printed models to help simulate breast tumors and surveyed surgeons to evaluate how realistic these models felt.
  • Results showed a model that scored 7.1 out of 10 on simulating a real tumor, indicating the models could enhance training for medical professionals and education for patients.

By incorporating inert KCl into the NaIrO+ 2CuCl → CuIrO+ 2NaCl topochemical reaction, we significantly reduced the synthesis temperature of CuIrOfrom the 350 °C reported in previous studies to 170 °C. This adjustment decreased the Cu/Ir antisite disorder concentration in CuIrOfrom ∼19% to ∼5%. Furthermore, magnetic susceptibility measurements of the present CuIrOsample revealed a weak ferromagnetic-like anomaly with hysteresis at a magnetic transition temperature of ∼70 K.

Thorium-229 (Th) possesses an optical nuclear transition between the ground state (Th) and low-lying isomer (Th). A nuclear clock based on this nuclear-transition frequency is expected to surpass existing atomic clocks owing to its insusceptibility to surrounding fields. In contrast to other charge states, triply charged Th (Th) is the most suitable for highly accurate nuclear clocks because it has closed electronic transitions that enable laser cooling, laser-induced fluorescence detection and state preparation of ions.

Objectives: This study aimed to clarify the effect of an intervention using a head-mounted display with a web camera set at a modified pitch angle on spatial awareness, sit-to-stand movement, and standing balance in patients with left and right hemisphere damage.

Methods: The participants were 12 patients with right hemisphere damage and 12 patients with left hemisphere damage. The line bisection test, a sit-to-stand movement, and balance assessment were performed before and after the intervention.
