Background: Invasive mucormycosis (IM) poses a substantial morbidity and mortality burden among immunocompromised patients.

Objectives: We aim to compare the real-world effectiveness and safety of isavuconazole with those of amphotericin B in patients with IM.

Patients And Methods: In this observational cohort study, we enrolled patients who were diagnosed with IM and treated with either isavuconazole or amphotericin B.

Kraft-Based Femtosecond Laser-Induced Graphene for Electrochemical Dopamine Sensing.

In this work, laser-induced graphene from kraft paper (kraft paper-LIG) was employed for the nonenzymatic electrochemical sensing of dopamine (DA). We reported the fabrication and characterization of a disposable, cost-effective, kraft-based electrochemical dopamine sensor with the sensing electrode consisting of laser-induced graphene derived from kraft paper. Kraft paper-LIG was formed by the femtosecond laser modification of kraft paper into a three-dimensional (3D) graphene arrangement.

Melatonin promoted terpene accumulation of blueberries during postharvest partial dehydration.

Although postharvest partial dehydration has been applied to enhance blueberry wine flavor by increasing terpene level, berry decay remains a concern. Melatonin is known to improve fruit resistance during storage, but its role in terpene accumulation in blueberries during postharvest dehydration remains unclear. This study identified aroma-active terpenes of blueberry wines applying aroma extract dilution analysis and revealed the key genes linked to the increased terpenes in dehydrated blueberries.

Synthesis of Benzazepines Bearing Three Contiguous Carbon Stereocenters through Pd(II)-Catalyzed [3 + 2] Cycloaddition of -Aryl Nitrones with Allenoates.

A cascade reaction of Pd(II)/dppben-catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of -aryl nitrones with allenoates and sequential reduction has been developed for the synthesis of functionalized benzazepines bearing three contiguous carbon stereocenters in moderate to good yields ranging from 15 to 82% and high diastereoselectivity. The obtained benzazepines could be converted into various benzazepine scaffolds, and an estrone-derived benzazepine scaffold was prepared over four steps from estrone. More importantly, chiral benzazepine bearing three contiguous carbon stereocenters could be obtained in 88% ee value with chiral auxiliary.
