Background: Information on epidural analgesia delivered to parturient women is frequently incomplete, making it difficult for expectant mothers to make an appropriate choice for their delivery. We assessed the impact of a multimodal information session on epidural analgesia delegated to anesthetic nurses on new-mothers' satisfaction.
Methods: We performed a prospective sequential study including parturient women who gave birth with epidural analgesia.
Background: Frailty status is recognized as an important parameter in critically ill elderly patients, but nothing is known about outcomes in non-frail patients regarding the development of frailty or frailty and death after intensive care. The aim of this study was to determine risk factors for frailty and death or only frailty 6 months after intensive care unit (ICU) admission in non-frail patients ≥ 65 years.
Methods: A prospective non-interventional study performed in an academic ICU from February 2015 to February 2016 included non-frail ≥ 65-year-old patients hospitalized for > 24 h in the ICU.

These agents act on the channel regulatory subunit, the sulfonylurea receptor (SUR), which is an ABC protein with homologies to P-glycoprotein (P-gp). P-gp is a multidrug transporter expressed in tumor cells and in some healthy tissues.

The diagnostic designs for the Laser Megajoule (LMJ) will require components to operate in environments far more severe than those encountered in present facilities. This harsh environment will be induced by fluxes of neutrons, gamma rays, energetic ions, electromagnetic radiations, and, in some cases, debris and shrapnel, at levels several orders of magnitude higher than those experienced today on existing facilities. The lessons learned about the vulnerabilities of present diagnostic parts fielded mainly on OMEGA for many years, have been very useful guide for the design of future LMJ diagnostics.
