Surgical navigation for targeted retroperitoneal lymph-node removal: a randomised, controlled, phase 3 trial.

Background: Metastatic retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (LND) for nodal recurrence is applied for a variety of cancers, such as urological, gynaecological and rectal cancer. Precise localisation and resection of these lymph nodes (LNs) during surgery can be challenging, especially after previous radiotherapy or surgery. The objective of this study was to assess the added value of surgical navigation for targeted LND in the retroperitoneum.

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy for patients with locally advanced vulvar cancer.

Purpose Of Review: Studies on treatment options for patients with locally advanced vulvar cancer (LAVC) are scarce, and high-level evidence for a primary treatment choice is lacking. Furthermore, current treatment options are associated with extensive morbidity and high complication rates. More effective treatment options are urgently needed.

Reconstruction of the Meatus Urethrae After Oncologic Vulvectomy: Outcome of 42 Vaginal Flap Advancements in 41 Women.

Background And Aim: Resection of the distal part of the urethra is performed in 15% to 55% of women with vulvar cancer to achieve radicality of vulvectomy. Urinary reconstruction in these women may be complicated by urethral stenosis resulting from circular inset of the meatus. We report on our experience with 2 surgical techniques of noncircular inset to prevent such stenosis.
