Impact of Atrial Fibrillation on the Symptoms and Echocardiographic Evaluation of Patients With Aortic Stenosis.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is common in patients with aortic stenosis (AS) and complicates the assessment of AS severity. The overlapping of symptoms in these 2 conditions may postpone valve replacement. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of AF on the severity assessment of AS and its impact on symptoms and quality of life (QoL).

Heterologous boosting of nonrelated toxoid immunity during acute Puumala hantavirus infection.

Persistence of immune memory in humans is a crucial yet poorly understood aspect of immunology. Here we have studied the effect of Puumala hantavirus infection on unrelated, pre-existing immune memory by studying T cell- and antibody responses against toxoid vaccine antigens of diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis in a cohort of 45 patients. We found that tetanus- and pertussis -specific IgG concentrations elevate during acute Puumala virus infection.

Zirconia single crowns and multiple-unit FDPs-An up to 8 -year retrospective clinical study.

Objective: The aim of this retrospective clinical study was to evaluate the survival and the occurrence of technical and biological complications of zirconia crowns and fixed dental prostheses made in the student clinic of Turku University, Finland, between April 2009 and September 2017.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-seven patients (19 female, 8 male), with zirconia crowns or FDPs, participated in the follow-up investigation. The mean age of patients was 64.

Design principles for simulation games for learning clinical reasoning: A design-based research approach.

Background: Nurses sometimes lack the competence needed for recognising deterioration in patient conditions and this is often due to poor clinical reasoning. There is a need to develop new possibilities for learning this crucial competence area.
