Synthesis of MOF-supported Pt catalyst with high electrochemical oxidation activity for methanol oxidation.

Fuel cells, one of the clean energy sources, is quite remarkable for energy production. In this context, catalysts are needed for the electrochemical reactions of DMFCs (direct methanol fuel cells) to work efficiently. In this study, Pt and Pt@Ti-MOF (Pt@MIL-125) NPs (nanoparticles) catalysts were synthesized by chemical synthesis.

Kinematic Gait Impairments in Children with Clubfeet Treated by the Ponseti Method: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Background: Being aware of possible gait impairments in Ponseti-treated clubfoot children might be useful for optimizing initial and additional treatment. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify kinematic gait abnormalities in children with clubfoot treated with the Ponseti method (with and without relapse).

Methods: A systematic search was conducted.

Plantar pressure distribution and wearing characteristics of three forefoot offloading shoes in healthy adult subjects.

Forefoot offloading shoes are used to reduce pressure on specific regions of the foot. Aim of the pressure reduction is to aid healing of the soft and bony tissues and prevent complications by treating foot disorders. A great variety of forefoot offloading shoes are available.

Background: Currently, the Ponseti method is the gold standard for treatment of clubfeet. For long-term functional evaluation of this method, gait analysis can be performed. Previous studies have assessed gait differences between Ponseti treated clubfeet and healthy controls.

Dynamics of Indian Ocean Slavery Revealed through Isotopic Data from the Colonial Era Cobern Street Burial Site, Cape Town, South Africa (1750-1827).

The Dutch East India Company (VOC) intended the Cape of Good Hope to be a refreshment stop for ships travelling between the Netherlands and its eastern colonies. The indigenous Khoisan, however, did not constitute an adequate workforce, therefore the VOC imported slaves from East Africa, Madagascar and Asia to expand the workforce. Cape Town became a cosmopolitan settlement with different categories of people, amongst them a non-European underclass that consisted of slaves, exiles, convicts and free-blacks.
