Case report of a patient with stage IV lung adenocarcinoma and uncommon/compound EGFR mutations who responded to afatinib.

There is no established treatment for lung adenocarcinoma with uncommon/compound epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. We report a case of a 73-year-old man with stage IVB lung adenocarcinoma harboring E709G and L861Q EGFR mutations. After 2 months of afatinib treatment, significant tumor shrinkage was observed, and the patient's condition remained stable for 1 year.

Clinical significance of a basophil activation test for Japanese beekeepers naturally sensitized to honey bee venom.

Background: The basophil activation test (BAT) has high sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing Hymenoptera venom allergy and is useful for predicting the clinical sensitivity of bee venom-allergic patients after venom immunotherapy. Patients sensitized to Hymenoptera venom are at risk for systemic reactions (SRs) to subsequent stings. Therefore, a tool that can predict the occurrence of SRs and the severity of Hymenoptera stings is needed.

Consideration of Usefulness of Leakage Prevention System for Critical Diagnostic Information Transmission.

In our country, overlooking and failing to communicate the results of imaging examinations and pathological examinations to patients is a problem. This is because it affects the prognosis of the patients. With the introduction of this system, the situation improved within six months, so this system was useful.

A novel telerehabilitation with an educational program for caregivers using telelecture is feasible for fall prevention in elderly people: A case series.

Background: The importance of fall prevention rehabilitations has been well recognized. Recently telerehabilitation was developed, however, there have been no reports on telerehabilitation with direct support from specialists for fall prevention among the elderly. We herein reported telerehabilitation by caregivers educated by our novel educational program.

We recently reported that the growth of Arabidopsis thaliana was severely inhibited on MGRL-based zinc (Zn)-deficient medium but not on Murashige-Skoog-based Zn-deficient medium. Here, we explored the underlying reason for the phenotypic differences in Arabidopsis grown on the different media.
