Background: Between 2006 and 2014, 10 cases of in yaks with calcium carbonate uroliths were confirmed in Switzerland, and at the same time, a sixfold calcium overhang in roughage in an affected farm was evident. The purpose of this study was the question of whether in yaks in the alpine regions of Switzerland poses a husbandry risk. The hypothesis was that elevated calcium levels in roughage led to and, thus, the formation of calcium carbonate stones.

The aim of the present study was to obtain a retrospective (year 2010 - 2016) nationwide analysis of faecal egg count (FEC) data from the Swiss adult horse population, related to horse age and geographic region. Thirteen labs provided a total of 16,387 FEC data of horses aged four to 39 years (average: 13.

Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have demonstrated that infant formulas with the HMOs 2'-fucosyllactose (2'FL) and lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT) are safe, well-tolerated, and support normal growth. This study aimed to generate real-world evidence (RWE) on growth and gastrointestinal (GI) tolerance in infants consuming a formula with 1 g/L 2'FL and 0.

Due to the widespread resistance of small ruminant gastrointestinal nematodes (GIN) against anthelmintic drugs the established control strategies need to get adapted, aiming to reduce their high dependence from chemical drugs. Host-specific development of GIN can be used as a tool when grazing different species on the same pastures. The aim of this study was to estimate the effect of mixed grazing with cattle on the development of GIN infections in goats.
