The Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK) and the Nordic Lymphoma Group (NLG) conducted the SAKK 35/10 randomized phase-2 trial (NCT0137605) to compare rituximab (R) alone versus R plus lenalidomide (L) as initial treatment for follicular lymphoma (FL). Patients with grade 1-3a FL, requiring systemic therapy, were randomized to either R (n=77; 375 mg/m2 IV x 1, weeks 1-4) or RL (n=77; R on the same schedule and L at 15 mg daily continuously). Responders (evaluated at 10 weeks) repeated R during weeks 12-15 with or without L (for a total of 18 weeks).

Background: Medication nonadherence remains a significant challenge in the management of chronic conditions, often leading to suboptimal treatment outcomes and increased health care costs. Innovative interventions that address the underlying factors contributing to nonadherence are needed. Gamified mobile apps have shown promise in promoting behavior change and engagement.

Background: The risk of perinatal death and severe neonatal morbidity increases gradually after 41 weeks of pregnancy. We evaluated maternal and perinatal outcomes after a national shift from expectancy and induction at 42+0 weeks to a more active management of late-term pregnancies in Sweden offering induction from 41+0 weeks or an individual plan aiming at birth or active labour no later than 42+0 weeks.

Methods And Findings: Women with a singleton pregnancy lasting 41+0 weeks or more with a fetus in cephalic presentation (N = 150,370) were included in a nationwide, register-based cohort study.

Background: Mobile health apps have shown promising results in improving self-management of several chronic diseases in patients. We have developed a mobile health app (Cardiomeds) dedicated to patients with heart failure (HF). This app includes an interactive medication list; daily self-monitoring of symptoms, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate; and educational information on HF delivered through various formats.

Article Synopsis
  • Uterus transplantation (UTx) is a treatment aimed at women with absolute uterine factor infertility, and this study reviews the outcomes of pregnancies following this procedure.
  • The research involved a systematic review of literature between 2010 and 2023, focusing on maternal and neonatal outcomes from cesarean deliveries post-UTx, though it found no comparative studies, relying instead on case reports and series, resulting in low certainty of evidence.
  • Out of 40 unique live births identified, all were delivered via cesarean section, with nearly half being emergency procedures, and a significant portion were delivered before 37 weeks, indicating increased risks for mothers and babies compared to standard cesarean deliveries.
