Purpose: To assess the utility of the first or second examinations for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in a medium-risk cohort of infants and to propose an optimization to the current ROP screening guidelines.

Design: Retrospective consecutive study.

Subjects: Infants screened for ROP between January 2017 and August 2023 at three different tertiary-level care neonatal intensive care units.

7-Year Follow-Up of Maxillary Overdentures Supported by Mini-Dental Implants.

Mini dental implants (MDIs) are alternatives to support an overdenture when a standard diameter implant cannot be placed due to lack of bone volume. They reduce the need for invasive bone grafting and lower the barrier for treatment. This prospective study reports on implant and patient-centered outcomes of flaplessly placed, early loaded MDIs supporting horseshoe-shaped maxillary overdentures after 7 years of function.

Penile length after penile implant surgery is determined by stretched penile length before surgery.

Background: While various treatment modalities exist, penile prosthesis (PP) implantation offers a permanent solution for patients that do not respond to or are not suitable for other treatment options for erectile dysfunction.

Aim: To evaluate long-term survival and success of dental implants and evaluate indicators affecting the long-term outcome.

Materials And Methods: Implant survival, success and crestal bone loss (BL) over time were evaluated. For covariates at patient level, Kaplan-Meier estimates of implant survival were compared between groups with the log-rank test.

Characteristics, associations, and outcomes of children with posterior segment coloboma.

Purpose: To describe the clinical characteristics and outcomes of children with posterior segment coloboma (PSC).

Methods: The medical records of children (age <18 years) with PSC examined at Boston Children's Hospital from May 1997 to May 2023 were reviewed retrospectively. The following data were collected: demographics, ocular and systemic conditions, coloboma type according to the Ida Mann (IM) classification, and best-corrected visual acuity.
