At 90% ulcerations of the lower legs are venously conditioned. Prerequisite for the development are a pronounced varicosis or thromboses of the deep veins which finally lead to the varicose symptom complex (edema, pigmentations, dermatosclerosis, congestive eczema and ulcus cruris). Prerequisite for healing is the removal of the varicose veins by operations or varicosclerosation and tight dressing for the prevention of edemas.
