Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is often severe, debilitating and difficult to treat. Recent randomised control trials (RCTs) of biologics that target key inflammatory pathways have demonstrated clinical efficacy in treating CRSwNP. Such RCTs must facilitate meta-analysis.

Purpose Of Review: To evaluate the role of neuroimmune signalling pathways in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP).
Recent Findings: The sinonasal mucosa is densely infiltrated by immune cells and neuronal structures that share an intimate spatial relationship within tissue compartments. Together, such neuroimmune units play a critical role in airway defence and homeostatic function.
Optical processors, built with "optical neurons", can efficiently perform high-dimensional linear operations at the speed of light. Thus they are a promising avenue to accelerate large-scale linear computations. With the current advances in micro-fabrication, such optical processors can now be 3D fabricated, but with a limited precision.

Despite significant advances in fast multiplexed imaging sensors and deep-learning-based inverse solvers, the throughput of QPM is currently limited by the pixel-rate of the image sensors. Complementarily, to improve throughput further, here we propose to acquire images in a compressed form so that more information can be transferred beyond the existing hardware bottleneck of the image sensor.

Purpose Of Review: To highlight the current evidence that supports the view that eosinophils may not drive disease in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and the emerging evidence for B cells as an important player in this disease.
Recent Findings: Eosinophil depletion studies in CRSwNP do not fully support a critical role for eosinophils in CRSwNP. Almost complete eosinophil depletion with dexpramipexole had no impact on polyp size reduction or clinical improvement.
