The stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway exhibits great potential in remodeling the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and initiating antitumor immunity. However, how to effectively activate STING and avoid undesired toxicity after systemic administration remains challenging. Herein, platinum(IV)-backboned polymer prodrug-coated manganese oxide nanoparticles (DHP/MnONP) with pH/redox dual responsive properties are developed to precisely release cisplatin and Mn in the tumor microenvironment and synergistically amplify STING activation.

Background/objectives: Since 2022, outbreaks of monkeypox have raised widespread concern and have been declared a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization. There is an urgent need to develop a safe and effective vaccine against the monkeypox virus (MPXV). Recombinant protein vaccines play a significant role in the prevention of infectious diseases due to their high safety and efficacy.

The strain data acquired from structural health monitoring (SHM) systems of large-span bridges are often contaminated by a mixture of temperature-induced and vehicle-induced strain components, thereby complicating the assessment of bridge health. Existing approaches for isolating temperature-induced strains predominantly rely on statistical temperature-strain models, which can be significantly influenced by arbitrarily chosen parameters, thereby undermining the accuracy of the results. Additionally, signal processing techniques, including empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and others, frequently yield unstable outcomes when confronted with nonlinear strain signals.

β-ketoacyl-CoA synthase (KCS) enzymes play a pivotal role in plants by catalyzing the first step of very long-chain fatty acid (VLCFA) biosynthesis. This process is crucial for plant development and stress responses. However, the understanding of genes in maize remains limited.

This study investigates the chemical complexity and toxicity of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from national petrochemical industrial parks and their effects on air quality in an industrial area of Nanjing, China. Field measurements were conducted from 1 December 2022, to 17 April 2023, focusing on VOC concentrations and speciations, diurnal variations, ozone formation potential (OFP), source identification, and associated health risks. The results revealed an average total VOC (TVOC) concentration of 15.
