Introduction: The utilization of metal shields in intensity-modulated brachytherapy (IMBT) enables the modulation of the dose, resulting in improved conformance to the tumor while simultaneously reducing the doses to organs at risk (OARs). Utilizing higher-energy sources like Co in IMBT for cervical and vaginal cancers has consistently posed challenges. This study evaluates the dosimetric aspects of modified applicators designed for IMBT using Co and Ir sources.

The efficacy of radiotherapy in ATL needs enhancement with radiosensitizing agents. This study investigated whether umbelliprenin (UMB) could improve the therapeutic effects of ionizing radiation (IR) in ATL cells.

Introduction: Organ dose distribution calculation in radiotherapy and knowledge about its side effects in cancer etiology is the most concern for medical physicists. Calculation of organ dose distribution for breast cancer treatment plans with Monte Carlo (MC) simulation is the main goal of this study.
Materials And Methods: Elekta Precise linear accelerator (LINAC) photon mode was simulated and verified using the GEANT4 application for tomographic emission.
Purpose: Employing electron beam for radiotherapy purposes now has been established as one of the standard cancer treatment modalities. Both dedicated intraoperative and conventional electron beams can be employed in patient irradiation. Due to the differences between accelerating structure and electron beam delivery of dedicated intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) machines and conventional ones, the initial energy spectra of the produced electron beam by these machines may be different.

The objective of the present study was to determine whether 7-geranyloxycoumarin, a natural monoterpene coumarin, could induce anticancer effects, in single use and/or in combination with anticancer drugs and ionizing radiation, on GA cells.
Materials And Methods: 7-geranyloxycoumarin was synthesized by a reaction between 7-hydroxycoumarin and transgeranyl bromide.
