An innovative, biomimetic, green synthesis approach was exploited for the synthesis of humane and environmental friendly nanomaterials for biomedical applications. Ultrafine bonelike apatite (BAp) 2D plate-like structures were prepared using fenugreek seed extract during the biosynthesis wet-chemical precipitation route. The chemical analysis, morphology and structure of the prepared 2D nanoplates were characterized by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), electron microscopy (SEM and TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.

Background And Study Aims: Mother-infant hepatitis B virus (HBV) transmission is the current leading cause of chronic infection. We aimed to assess the efficacy of lamivudine use in hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-positive pregnant women to decrease viral load and thus aid in the prevention of transmission.
Patients And Methods: A study of 73 mother-infant pairs.
Background: Occult hepatitis B virus infection (OBI) is a well-recognized clinical entity characterized by the detection of HBV DNA in serum and/or liver in the absence of detectable HBsAg. Diagnosis of OBI requires a sensitive HBV DNA assay.
Aim: We aimed at determining the frequency of OBI in infants, born to HBsAg-positive mothers, who received immunoprophylaxis at birth.
Background: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children. This study aimed at evaluation of the D-dimer blood levels as a new marker to predict prognosis and outcome of traumatic brain injuries among children.
Materials And Methods: This case control study was conducted at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Alharm Hospital in Giza, Egypt during 2012-2013, on 46 Paediatric cases admitted to ICU with head injury and 20 normal age-matched controls.
