Primary anterior abdominal wall actinomycosis.

Actinomycosis of the anterior abdominal wall is rare. We report a 50-year-old diabetic man who presented with a left hypochondrial mass of three weeks duration associated with fever. Abdominal computed tomography showed a 2 x 4 cm mass projecting from the internal abdominal wall associated with surrounding inflammation.

A systems analysis tool for construction and demolition wastes management.

Managing construction and demolition (C&D) wastes has challenged many municipalities with diminishing waste disposal capacity. Facing such challenges, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection proposed a policy restricting the landfill disposal of certain C&D waste materials, if unprocessed. This research is to study the potential economic impact of such restriction on construction contractors and C&D waste processors.

Clinicopathological assessment of gastric biopsy samples of patients with Helicobacter pylori infection--metronidazole resistance and compliance problems in the United Arab Emirates.

The significance of Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection was assessed prospectively in forty-two patients with dyspepsia using histological, bacteriological and biopsy urease techniques. Thirty-eight patients (90.5%) were positive for HP infection and were treated with bismuth subcitrate (De Nol), tinidazole and doxycycline.
