Streptococcal Bacteremia and Toxic Shock Syndrome: A Rare Etiology Requiring Prompt Diagnosis.

Bullous impetigo leading to streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) immune activation and massive cytokine release is a rare condition. It has a significant mortality rate, which calls for quick diagnosis, early suspicion, and integrated treatment. Herein, we discuss the case of a 66-year-old man who underwent evaluation for leg swelling before quickly going into shock and experiencing respiratory failure, which necessitated invasive mechanical intubation.

Nuclear protein in testis midline carcinoma of larynx: An underdiagnosed entity.

Background: Nuclear protein in testis (NUT) carcinomas are very rare and have a very poor survival rate. The most common sites of involvement include the nasal cavity, sinus, and mediastinum. Laryngeal NUT midline carcinoma is extremely rare, with only 2 cases reported thus far.

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the thyroid gland occurring after treated Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Objective: To present a case report of the occurrence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the thyroid gland of a patient who had previously undergone successful treatment of Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Methods: We describe pertinent historical features and current symptoms and laboratory findings in a 62-year-old man who had had successful treatment of Hodgkin's lymphoma 10 years previously and had been free of disease for a decade. We also review the related medical literature on the course of patients after therapy for Hodgkin's lymphoma.
