Objectives: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly among the elderly, resulting in high rates of intensive care unit (ICU) admissions. Malnutrition is common in elderly patients and has been associated with poor prognosis in patients with COPD. However, its impact in the ICU setting remains incompletely defined.

However, the relationship between Hb and blood pressure (BP) during pregnancy is unclear. This study aimed to estimate the associations between maternal Hb in various trimesters and its changes with BP during pregnancy.

This study investigated the abundance and characteristics of MPs in surface sediments from shoreline area of the Yellow River Delta in northern China, elucidated their sources, and assessed their risk. The MPs isolated from sediment samples were detected and characterized using optical microscopy and micro-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (μ-FTIR).

This study investigated the use of an anaerobic-aerobic system combined with bioaugmentation using Ochrobactrum anthropi S1 to treat PDW. The results indicated that after three rounds of inoculation, Ochrobactrum anthropi S1 successfully colonized the system, achieving final removal efficiencies of reactive black 5, Cr(Ⅵ), COD, and ammonia nitrogen of 95 %, 65 %, 90 %, and 85 %, respectively.

Beluga whale optimization (BWO) is a swarm-based metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the group behavior of beluga whales. BWO suffers from drawbacks such as an insufficient exploration capability and the tendency to fall into local optima. To address these shortcomings, this paper proposes augmented multi-strategy beluga optimization (AMBWO).
