Objectives: Digital transformation has drastically changed the surgical sector, but few is known about its impact on thoracic surgical practice. The aim of this paper is to report the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) survey results, assessing the impact of and the need for Digital Transformation in Thoracic Surgery.
Methods: A 23-item survey was designed by the ESTS Digital Transformation Working Group to assess the impact of and the need for Digital Transformation in Thoracic Surgery.
Surgery remains an essential element of the multimodality radical treatment of patients with early-stage nonsmall cell lung cancer. In addition, thoracic surgery is one of the key specialties involved in the lung cancer tumour board. The importance of the surgeon in the setting of a multidisciplinary panel is ever-increasing in light of the crucial concept of resectability, which is at the base of patient selection for neoadjuvant/adjuvant treatments within trials and in real-world practice.

Introduction: Despite improvements in patient selection, operative technique, and postoperative care, oesophagectomy remains one of the most morbid oncologic resection types. Introduction of minimally invasive practice has been shown to have a greater marginal benefit for oesophagectomy than most of the other types of procedures.
Aim: To evaluate early surgical outcomes through the adoption of totally minimally invasive oesophagectomy and accumulating experience in perioperative management.
