Comparative Study of Exchange Nailing and Augmentative Plating for Treating Aseptic Nonunion of Femoral Shafts Post Intramedullary Nailing: A Single-Blind, Multicentric Randomized Clinical Trial.

: Aseptic nonunion of femoral shafts after intramedullary nailing (IMN) can be a challenging condition that may lead to long-term disability and the need for multiple surgical procedures. This study compared the clinical and radiological outcomes between exchange nailing and augmentative plating with bone grafting. : In this multicenter, prospective, single-blind, randomized controlled trial, patients with aseptic nonunion of the femoral shaft after IMN were randomly assigned to receive exchange nailing or augmentative plating.

Nonlinear mechanical response of finite-length soft composites with random dislocations.

The effects of random dislocations on the vibrational properties of finite-length RNA and DNA macro-structures have been investigated by means of a harmonic Hamiltonian and the Green's function method. The RNA molecule has been modeled using a half ladder model, and three models (a fishbone model and two different strand models) have been employed to model the structure of DNA. The lengths of the finite and cyclic systems are gradually increased to more accurately approximate the structures of RNA and DNA.

[Probable pharmacological interaction between sulfonylurea and beta-blocker in a patient with DM-II. A case report].

The study presents the case of a 47-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes (T2D), hypertension and anemia, treated with metformin, glyburide, metoprolol, and iron/folic acid. A drug interaction was identified between glyburide and metoprolol, causing symptoms of hypoglycemia in the afternoon. Evaluation using Horn's Drug Interaction Probability Scale (DIPS) suggested a probable interaction.

When she went to pick up her medication, she informed us that for a few months she has been suffering from fatigue, weakness, dizziness and confusion. A medication review is performed, focused on the dosage of renal metabolism or elimination medications, based on the patient's estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR).

There is a claimed increase in the global prevalence and incidence of emerging diseases observed in many organisms. Myxozoa represents an essential group of metazoan parasites that hold both economic and ecological significance. In the current study, 1% of the fish population at two commercial goldfish (Carassius auratus) farms in Tehran and Ghom province, Iran, developed cavitating muscular lesions resembling humps in February 2021 and January 2022.
