The dementia-nature-inclusivity nexus and the needs of people living with dementia.

Understanding how to improve the physical and cognitive accessibility of visitor economy businesses and organisations wanting to offer nature-based outdoor pursuits for people with dementia is key to supporting their inclusion and agency. The aim of this qualitative study was to understand the experiences, needs and preferences of people with dementia participating in nature-based outdoor pursuits in their leisure time. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 people with dementia and 15 family members and subjected to thematic analysis.

Exploring the challenges experienced by patients and families using palliative and end-of-life care services: A qualitative focus group study.

Objectives: In the UK, access to dignified and compassionate palliative care is increasingly being reported as inadequate. This is a particular issue in South-West England, where there is an ageing population, historical lack of research, and particular challenges due to its rural and coastal location. The aim of this study was to provide a holistic view of patient and family experiences of care toward the end-of-life in this location and to collaboratively identify the challenges they face.

Introduction: Palliative and End of Life care (PEoLC) in the United Kingdom (UK) is increasingly being reported as inadequate. This is occurring amidst a wider backdrop of health and social care systems facing unprecedented pressure, particularly as they recover from the long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to explore the barriers to PEoLC faced by those providing and receiving care in South-West England (UK).

Engagement With Professional Stakeholders in Healthcare Research-The Case of the Dementia PersonAlised Care Team (D-PACT) Project in the United Kingdom.

Introduction: In this viewpoint we highlight a gap in the literature relating to the involvement of professional stakeholders in healthcare evaluation research.

Method: Using the Dementia-PersonAlised Care Team (D-PACT) project as an example, we illustrate how professional stakeholder work can serve various functions, from understanding commissioning and policy context to contributing to detail of intervention components.

Outcome: We argue that identifying these project-specific functions can help researchers to effectively plan when, how and for whom they will engage in professional stakeholder work across the course of an evaluation.

Modelling the Effectiveness of Tepotinib in Comparison to Standard-of-Care Treatments in Patients with Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) Harbouring METex14 Skipping in the UK.

Background: Patients with non-small cell lung cancer harbouring mesenchymal-epithelial transition exon 14 (METex14) skipping typically demonstrate poorer prognosis than overall non-small cell lung cancer. Until recently, no targeted treatments were available for patients with non-small cell lung cancer harbouring METex14 skipping in the UK, with limited treatments available.

Objective: This study estimates the long-term survival and quality-adjusted life-year benefit of MET inhibitor tepotinib versus current standard of care from a UK perspective.
