The endothelin-B receptor (ETR) mediates vasodilation in young women, an effect that is absent in postmenopausal women. We have previously demonstrated that ETR-mediated vasodilation is regulated by estradiol (E) in young women; however, the impact of E on ETR function in postmenopausal women remains unknown. Accordingly, the objective of this study was to test the hypothesis that E exposure restores ETR-mediated dilation in postmenopausal women.

Both genetic susceptibility and unhealthy lifestyle are known to be associated with elevated T2D risk. However, their combined effects on T2D risk are not well studied.

They also frequently experience barriers to accessing healthcare, contributing to problems identifying and treating health conditions. These factors may lead to increased and earlier morbidity and lower average life expectancy for autistic people.

Hyperactivation of the PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway is a common occurrence in OAC, driving cell survival, proliferation and resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. Inhibition of AKT has been explored as a treatment strategy with limited success and current inhibitors have failed to progress through clinical trials.

However, approaches to understanding the combined extracellular and cellular microenvironment are limited. In the current protocol, we describe an approach that allows single-cell type imaging using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization immunohistochemistry (MALDI-IHC) of UV (ultraviolet) photocleavable mass tags combined with N-glycomic and ECM-targeted proteomic imaging from the same formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue section.
