We evaluated associations of higher and lower arm systolic BPs with diagnostic and treatment thresholds, and prognosis in hypertension, using data from the Inter-arm Blood Pressure Difference-Individual Participant Data Collaboration.

Detection of atrial fibrillation in primary care with radial pulse palpation, electronic blood pressure measurement and handheld single-lead electrocardiography: a diagnostic accuracy study.

Objective: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of three tests-radial pulse palpation, an electronic blood pressure monitor and a handheld single-lead ECG device-for opportunistic screening for unknown atrial fibrillation (AF).

Design: We performed a diagnostic accuracy study in the intention-to-screen arm of a cluster randomised controlled trial aimed at opportunistic screening for AF in general practice. We performed radial pulse palpation, followed by electronic blood pressure measurement (WatchBP Home A) and handheld ECG (MyDiagnostick) in random order.

The identification and validation of biomarkers of food intake (BFIs) is a promising approach to develop more objective and complementary tools to the traditional dietary assessment methods. Concerning dairy, their evaluation in terms of intake is not simple, given the variety of existing foods, making it difficult to establish the association between specific dairy products consumption and the effects on human health, which is also dependent on the study population. Here, we aimed at identifying BFI of both milk (M) and yogurt (Y) in 14 healthy young (20-35 years) and 14 older (65-80 years).
