Reactivation of Trypanosoma cruzi transmission by native vectors with different domiciliation capabilities is a major concern for Chagas disease control programs. T. cruzi transmission via intra-domestic Rhodnius prolixus was certified as interrupted by the Pan American Health Organization in Miraflores municipality (Boyacá, Colombia) in 2019.

Mental illness and personal recovery: A narrative identity framework.

This article presents a metamorphic model to describe the manifold role of narrative identity, a person's internal life story, across the course of mental illness and personal recovery. First, early adversity and negative co-authoring may contribute to the development of a fragile life story, which itself may combine with life stressors to increase the likelihood of mental illness. Second, mental illness may negatively impact the development of narrative identity, which in turn may exacerbate the devastating effects of mental illness on daily functioning.

Self-Transcendence as a Risk and Resilience Factor in Individuals at Clinical High Risk for Psychosis.

Aim: Self-transcendence is a personality feature and psychological resource that involves feelings of connectedness with the universe, all of humanity, and the individual self. Self-transcendence has been positively associated with both positive psychotic symptoms and clinical high risk for developing psychosis status, but studies reporting these findings focus solely on the connectedness-with-universe aspect of self-transcendence. The broader self-transcendence literature, which also includes connection with humanity and oneself, robustly supports self-transcendence as an indicator of well-being.

Electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) use is prevalent in the United States, especially among youth and young adults. It is important to monitor current ENDS use and identify at-risk groups, particularly among tobacco naïve individuals. Using data from the 2021 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, we examined the prevalence of past 30-day nicotine/tobacco ENDS use and correlates, stratified by age.
