The current state of transplant advanced practice providers: results of the advanced practice provider practice survey.

Advanced practice providers (APPs) are trained, licensed health care providers. The American Society of Transplant APP community of practice developed an electronic survey to investigate transplant APP demographics, scope of practice, and academic activities. We defined the top of scope of practice as delivering health care to the fullest extent of APP education and training as allowed by state laws and regulations.

Scoping review of instruments measuring attitudes toward disability.

Background: Negative attitudes toward disability cause difficulties in integrating persons with disabilities (PWDs) into society and limit their access to health care, education, employment, and leisure. Being aware of societal attitudes toward disability may help explain discrimination against PWDs and draw attention to the solutions needed to address these. Good measures of attitudes are vital for this purpose.

Understanding the acceptance factors of an Hospital Information System: evidence from a French University Hospital.

The goal of this study was to examine the perceived usefulness, the perceived ease of use and the perceived behavioral control of a Hospital Information System (HIS) for the care staff. We administrated a questionnaire composed of open-end and closed questions, based on the main concepts of Technology Acceptance Model. As results, the perceived usefulness, ease of use and behavioral control (self-efficacy and organizational support) are correlated with medical occupations.

Acute dermal abscesses caused by Serratia marcescens.

Primary acute cutaneous infections caused by Serratia marcescens are extremely unusual. Nevertheless, Serratia infections are especially frequent in chronic granulomatous disease, which is a primary immunodeficiency that affects phagocytic cells of the innate immune system. We report a young man without history of infections, who developed multiple dermal abscesses on a leg with chronic lymphoedema attributed to S marcescens.
