We are Latinx immigrants and children of Latinx immigrants. We provided emergency volunteer services at the Mission Food Bank during the pandemic to provide food assistance to low-income families in the Mission District and the city of San Francisco. In March 2021, we were invited to lead a research project that we call "We are Essential".

Most frequent kinds of neonatal tumors were teratomas (n: 30), followed by vascular tumors (n: 6), neuroblastomas IV-S (n: 5), hepatic hamartomas (n: 5), renal tumors (n: 3), soft tissue sarcomas (n: 2) and melanocytic melanoma (n: 1). Follow up was extended from 1 to 20 years.

A retrospective analysis identified SMT in 7 of 430 patients who survived a childhood cancer (incidence 1.62%).
