Summary: Paraneoplastic syndromes (PS) are uncommon and are known to mimic other clinical entities, often carrying significant morbidity and mortality. The commonest cause of extra-ocular muscle enlargement (EOME) is thyroid eye disease (TED). Rarely, PS can cause EOME and masquerade as TED.

Background And Study Aims: Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is a common disease with a significant impact on physical health and quality of life (QoL). Outcomes and management vary widely, with no agreed UK national guideline. This paper aims to describe an up-to-date description of demographics, clinical spectrum and outcomes for paediatric and adult patients with EoE from the North East of England between 2016 and 2019.

Case Report: Syphilitic Hepatitis-A Rare and Underrecognized Etiology of Liver Disease With Potential for Misdiagnosis.

Syphilitic hepatitis (SH) in adults is a rare condition that can be easily misdiagnosed. Clinical and histopathologic manifestations of SH can mimic other infectious and non-infectious conditions, and the diagnosis should be considered in all at-risk patients with abnormal liver function tests. We present an unusual case of SH presenting with seizures and multiple liver lesions.

First Case Report of an Unusual Fungus ( Associated with a Pulmonary Infection in a Drug Injection User.

In contrast to a robust literature on known pathogenic fungi such as and species that cause pulmonary infections, reports of the uncommon genus causing infections are very limited. We present the first case report describing the fungus, as a likely cause of pneumonia in a patient with a history of polysubstance abuse and injection drug use (IDU). The patient recovered following antifungal treatment.

Isolated oculomotor nerve palsy as a manifestation of diffuse large B cell lymphoma: A case report.

An isolated third nerve palsy presenting as the primary manifestation of a lymphoma is rare, with only few cases having been described. The present study reports an unusual case of a healthy 67-year old male diagnosed with isolated right oculomotor nerve palsy (ONP), who was found to have an underlying B cell lymphoma. The patient's medical records were accessed upon consent.
