Developmental signaling inputs are fundamental for shaping cell fates and behavior. However, traditional fluorescent-based signaling reporters have limitations in scalability and molecular resolution of cell types. We present SABER-seq, a CRISPR-Cas molecular recorder that stores transient developmental signaling cues as permanent mutations in cellular genomes for deconstruction at later stages via single-cell transcriptomics.

With advances in smartphone and tablet technologies and their increasing use in clinical trials, accessibility features, such as pinch to zoom, are now at our fingertips. However, implementing such accessibility features when collecting electronic clinical outcomes assessments (eCOA) does not come without risks and must be designed with careful consideration and scientifically tested to ensure no impact to data integrity.

The mechanistic basis of these derived traits remains a fundamental question in biology due to its relevance to the origin of our cognitive abilities and behavioral repertoire, as well as to human-specific aspects of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases. Comparisons of the human brain to those of nonhuman primates and other mammals have revealed that differences in the neuromodulatory systems, especially in the dopaminergic system, may govern some of these behavioral and cognitive alterations, including increased vulnerability to certain brain disorders.
