We report a rare case of adenomatous hyperplasia (AH) with malignant transformation, which was observed initially in the liver with chronic hepatitis C. A 47-year-old man was admitted to the hospital and chronic active hepatitis was diagnosed using fine needle biopsy, in addition abdominal computed tomography (CT) and ultrasonography showed multiple and hypovascular liver mass. Needle biopsy of the nodules showed AH.

Background/aims: We studied compensatory hypertrophy following transcatheter portal embolization experimentally in dogs and clinically under the condition of cholestasis.
Methodology: Experimental study: Sixteen dogs were used for this study. Transcatheter portal embolization was performed in the left lobes (70% of the total liver) using Gelfoam powder in dogs with 2-week obstructive jaundice.
It has been proved that antibiotics binding to penicillin-binding protein 3 (PBP3) are associated with the greater release of endotoxin than those that bind to PBP2 in both in vitro and animal models. The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential clinical implications of antibiotic-induced endotoxin release after hepatic resection. Forty-five patients who underwent hepatic resection in our clinic were enrolled.
