Diagnostic and surgical management of submandibular gland sialolithiasis: report of a stone of unusual size.

Sialolithiasis of the salivary glands is a relatively rare occurrence. It is the most common cause of acute and chronic infections. Sialoliths occurs in the submandibular gland in 80% of the cases and its etiology is associated with some anatomical factors proper of it.
