Aim: This review aims to identify the mechanistic relationships related to periodontal diseases and its possible association with changes in human milk composition and the composition and function of infants' gut microbiome.

Background: Maternal health conditions, especially inflammatory, are associated with altered human milk composition. It is known whether maternal oral inflammatory diseases, including periodontal diseases, deleteriously affect human milk composition.

Utilizing Oral Neutrophil Counts as an Indicator of Oral Inflammation Associated With Periodontal Disease: A Blinded Multicentre Study.

Background: Periodontal diseases are chronic inflammatory conditions that require early screening for effective long-term management. Oral neutrophil counts (ONCs) correlate with periodontal inflammation. This study investigates a point-of-care test using a neutrophil enzyme activity (NEA) colorimetric strip for measuring periodontal inflammation.

Validation of clinically related aging models based on enamel wear.

Purpose: Physiological and erosive wear reported in clinical studies were reviewed, and in vitro aging models were developed to simulate and compare the effect of aging on human teeth with the review data obtained from clinical studies.

Methods: A review of clinical studies and randomized clinical trials that quantify enamel wear was performed in the PubMed database. The first in vitro analysis evaluated the effect of mechanical chewing simulation only.

Pediatric growth hormone deficiency: Understanding the patient and caregiver perspectives.

Childhood growth hormone deficiency (GHD) is a rare disorder associated with significant burden on both patients and caregivers. Although previous reports have detailed aspects of the burden experienced by patients and their caregivers, there is a paucity of first-hand information on the patient and caregiver journeys from their respective voices. To address this need, an advisory board meeting was conducted on September 30, 2022, with 4 pediatric patients with GHD and their caregivers to discuss their experiences prior to GHD diagnosis, during the diagnostic process, and during ongoing treatment with recombinant growth hormone.
