Objective We previously reported that patients with acute leukemia and malignant lymphoma (ML) demonstrated significantly increased serum soluble LR11 (sLR11) levels compared to normal controls. Accurately diagnosing ML of the central nervous system (CNS ML) using cytology is frequently difficult. Therefore, we evaluated the use of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sLR11 and soluble interleukin-2 receptor (sIL-2R) as diagnostic and treatment response markers for CNS ML.

Severe hypertriglyceridemia is prone to complications of acute pancreatitis. Here, we report a whole-exome sequencing (WES) analysis for a young hypertriglyceridemic patient with recurrent acute pancreatitis and the patient's mother.

Lipoprotein receptor 11 (LR11) is a member of the low-density lipoprotein receptor family, which is expressed markedly in intimal vascular SMCs and secreted in a soluble form (sLR11). sLR11 has been recently identified as a potential vascular lesion biomarker.

Previous studies have shown that high Lp(a) levels are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH). To date, limited data are available as to distribution of Lp(a) in FH and associations of Lp(a) with other lipid profiles and cardiovascular disease.

We conducted several analyses to evaluate the clinical laboratory parameters affecting presepsin levels.
Method: We analyzed the association between sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) scores and plasma presepsin levels and then analyzed clinical laboratory parameters in 567 patients with univariate and multivariate regression analysis and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA).
