"The Source of All My Joy and All My Stress": Children and Childcare as Underappreciated Sources of Stress That Affect Farm Women.

Objective: Women have always played a crucial role in agriculture through their work on the farm, caring for the family and the household, and off-farm employment. Yet, like their essential contributions to agriculture, their mental health and well-being have largely been invisible since much of the focus of the mental health in agriculture research has been on older, male farmers. This paper seeks to address this knowledge gap by focusing on the emotional consequences stemming from the expectations of juggling childcare responsibilities, farm work and managing the household whilst keeping children safe.

Effects of implementation of a care bundle on rates of necrotising enterocolitis and own mother's milk feeding in the East Midlands: protocol for a mixed methods impact and process evaluation study.

Introduction: Prevention of necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) is vital for improving neonatal outcomes. Feeding own mother's milk helps prevent NEC. Rates of own mother's milk feeding in the East Midlands are lower than the national average and the incidence of NEC is higher.

Association between opioid use during mechanical ventilation in preterm infants and evidence of brain injury: a propensity score-matched cohort study.

Background: Preterm infants often require mechanical ventilation (MV), which can be a painful experience. Opioids (such as morphine) are used to provide analgesia, despite conflicting evidence about their impact on the developing brain. We aimed to quantify the use of opioids during MV in infants born at <32 weeks' gestational age and to investigate the association between opioid use and evidence of brain injury.

Observational cohort study of use of caffeine in preterm infants and association between early caffeine use and neonatal outcomes.

Objective: To quantify trends in caffeine use in infants born at <32 weeks' gestational age (GA), and to investigate the effects of early vs late caffeine on neonatal outcomes.

Study Design: Retrospective propensity score matched cohort study using routinely recorded data from the National Neonatal Research Database of infants born at <32 weeks' GA admitted to neonatal units in England and Wales (2012-2020).

Results: 89% (58 913/66 081) of infants received caffeine.

Agriculture, COVID-19 and mental health: Does gender matter?

Agriculture is one of the most precarious professions, being vulnerable to weather extremes and animal disease. As crises hit the agricultural sector, a growing awareness and concern for the mental wellbeing of farmers developed. Economic decline, climate change and culling animals all have a profound impact on affected farmers.
