Quantum chemical calculations of one-photon absorption, electronic circular dichroism and anisotropy factor spectra for the A-band transition of fenchone, camphor and 3-methylcyclopentanone (3MCP) are reported. While the only weakly allowed nature of the transition leads to comparatively large anisotropies, a proper theoretical description of the absorption for such a transition requires to account for non-Condon effects. We present experimental data for the anisotropy of 3MCP in the liquid phase and show that corresponding Herzberg-Teller corrections are critical to reproduce the main experimental features.

Furthermore, the preoccupied name Ommatoptera is replaced by its junior synonym Pseudotanusia and Conocephalus macroxiphus is moved from Ruspolia to Neoconocephalus. Moreover, new names are proposed for primary or secondary homonyms among a species of tree cricket from China and seven species of grasshoppers from China, Australia and Africa.

Challenges faced by researchers include limited repertoire of antibiotic resistance of plasmids, issues related to plasmid compatibility and restricted or incompatible multiple cloning sites when needing to change plasmid copy number to tune production of their protein of interest. In this study, a series of plasmids were generated with compatible multiple cloning sites and homologous DNA regions to allow for modular cloning for rapid exchange of antibiotic resistance and plasmid origin.

The first steps of energy conversion are catalyzed by a collection of protein complexes, which can dynamically interact with each other for optimizing metabolic efficiency under changing environmental conditions.
Materials And Methods: For a deeper insight into the organization of protein assemblies and their roles in chloroplast adaption to changing environmental conditions, an improved complexome profiling protocol employing a MS-cleavable cross-linker is used to stabilize labile protein assemblies during the organelle isolation procedure.
